DESCRIPTION
Rosewater Oushak Rug
Romantic and relaxed. Large Oushak palmettes in slate, ivory and olive bloom across a washed blush-pink field, framed by a wide sage-blue border.
Why an Oushak?
Oushak rugs take their name from the town of Uşak in western Turkey, known for large, airy floral designs and softer colors than most Persian rugs. The Rosewater gives that classic layout a gentle, sun-faded pink palette.
Hand-knotted, knot by knot
Our artisans in India tie every knot by hand on a vertical loom, row by row, then wash and shear the rug for a soft hand and a gentle sheen. Because each knot is tied through the foundation, the pattern shows clearly on the back, the surest sign of a genuine hand-knotted rug. Read hand-tufted vs hand-knotted rugs to see the difference.

Which size should I choose?
In a living room, choose a rug large enough for at least the front legs of your sofa and chairs: 8×10 ft suits most rooms and 9×12 ft larger, open-plan spaces. Under a dining table, allow about 60 cm (24 in) beyond the table on every side. In a bedroom, 5×8 ft works across the lower part of a queen bed and 8×10 ft under a king. See our rug size guide.
Styling the Rosewater
Blush pink and sage are a beautiful pair with white or greige walls, natural wood, brass and green velvet. It is perfect for a bedroom, a girl's room or a soft, layered living room.
Caring for your rug
- Vacuum regularly on a low setting, without the beater bar.
- Rotate every 6 months so the rug wears and fades evenly.
- Avoid long periods of direct sunlight, which can fade natural dyes.
- Use a rug pad to keep it in place and protect the knots.
- Professional cleaning every 1–3 years; blot spills straight away with a clean, dry cloth.

CARE
Vacuum regularly on a low-suction setting without a beater bar. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth — never rub. For deep cleaning, professional rug cleaning is recommended every 12–18 months. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to prevent fading. Rotate the rug every 6–12 months for even wear.

Protection
Extend the life of your rug
Stain-Resistant Coating
For homes that are made to be lived in, our invisible protective coating shields your rug from spills — without changing its look or feel. Liquid beads up on the surface so you can blot it away before it ever becomes a stain.
This is an optional add-on service.
All about stain resistant coatingCommon questions
The treatment remains effective for 2–3 years under normal household use. It can be refreshed by a professional rug cleaner whenever needed.
It repels most water-based spills and gives you more time to blot before staining. Oil-based spills and deeply pigmented liquids should still be cleaned promptly to avoid marks.
We apply the coating in our studio before your rug is shipped, so it arrives protected and ready to use. No bottles, no mess, no guesswork.
◆ Size & Placement
Find the right fit for every room.
Living Room
A rug grounds your seating arrangement and defines the living space. As a rule, all front legs of sofas and chairs should sit on the rug.
Recommended sizes
Dining Room
Choose a rug large enough that chairs remain on it even when pulled out. Allow at least 24" of rug beyond the table on all sides.
Recommended sizes
Bedroom
Placement depends on bed size. The most popular option is a large rug extending 18–24" on three sides of the bed.
