How Currency & Checkout Work
ThePieCraft is based in India, where our master artisan workshop weaves every rug in Bhadohi. Store checkout processes in Indian Rupees (INR). For your convenience, our storefront displays estimated USD pricing converted at current market rates (~96.4 INR per USD).
What Will Appear on Your Card Statement
When paying with an international credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), your bank converts the INR total directly into USD at their daily exchange rate. For reference:

Card Issuer Foreign Transaction Fees: Depending on your card issuer or financial institution, a standard foreign transaction fee (typically 1–3%) may apply. This fee is assessed by your issuing bank, not ThePieCraft.
Prefer a Direct USD Invoice Before Checkout?
For rugs 4×6 ft and larger, you can request a direct USD payment link instead of paying in INR at checkout — use the “Pay in USD” button on the product page, or reach out to our concierge at support@thepiecraft.in or WhatsApp +91-9561514293 with your cart items or custom size requirements. We will issue a fixed USD invoice valid for 48 hours, with zero foreign transaction conversion guesswork.
US Shipping, Customs & Delivery Timeline
- Contiguous USA: Free express international delivery on all rugs. (Alaska, Hawaii, and US territories may incur a distant-region carrier surcharge quoted prior to dispatch).
- Handmade to order for you: Ships in 8 days, delivered to your US door in 2–3 weeks by FedEx / DHL Express. Duties paid.
- Custom designs: The 8 days start once you approve the design mock-up.
- Delivered Duty Paid (DDP): All standard US customs clearance duties and import processing fees are prepaid by ThePieCraft. You owe nothing upon delivery.
- End-to-End Tracking: Tracking numbers are emailed within 24 hours of air dispatch.
US Returns & Refunds
- Window: 30 days from delivery, for standard-size rugs in unused, original condition.
- Damaged or defective on arrival: tell us within 7 days of delivery with photos or video — we arrange and pay for the pickup and send a replacement at no cost to you.
- Return shipping cost: paid by you. You can ship the rug back with any tracked carrier, or we can send a prepaid FedEx / DHL label and deduct its cost from your refund — we confirm that amount in writing before you ship.
- Refund: the full rug price, once the rug reaches our workshop. Refunds go back to your original payment method in INR (the currency you were charged); your bank converts it to USD at its own rate.
- Custom rugs: made to your own size or colours, so they are final sale unless damaged in transit or faulty.
